Yield: 50 cookies

2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2-1/2 sticks butter, softened

1 teaspoon almond extract

1 teaspoon gel food coloring (any color)

Holiday sprinkles (optional)

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and mix. Incorporate softened butter and almond extract. Divide the dough in half and add the food coloring to one portion. Roll out each portion of dough between parchment paper into a rectangular shape about 1/4-in thick. Chill dough in fridge for 15 mins. Remove dough from paper, stacking the colored one on top. Roll together into a cylinder shape, then roll entire cylinder through sprinkles. Slice cookies and place on baking sheet.

Bake at 325 degrees for 15-17 minutes or until edges are slightly brown. Let cool completely before removing and serving.
