Apple Crumble

2/3 cup flour

1/2 cup rolled oats (optional)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

2 pound granny smith or pink lady apples, peeled, cored and sliced


Preheat oven to 375

Combine the flouor, oats (if using), brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Toss the apples slices with 1 tablespoon of the flour mixture and layer in a pie dish or baking dish. Add butter to remaining flour mixture and combine until mixture is crumbly. Distribute across the top of the apples and bake until apples are bubbling and crust is golden brown, abouut 40 minutes.
